Queen Victoria's Children

THE CHILD VICTIMS OF QUEEN VICTORIA
I always wondered about the children of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The nine children, born over a period of seventeen
years, could be best described as victims. The more well known were Bertie the heir to the throne who became King Edward VII
after the death of Queen Victoria and the oldest daughter Victoria who was the unfortunate mother of Kaiser Willhem who
was responsible for WWI. This documentary by historians of Queen Victoria and her children, five daughter and four sons,
presents a horror story of physical and emotional abuse that is shocking. It is sad that Prince Albert died for many reasons but
especially that he was not there to protect their children from the Queen. The five daughters are praiseworthy for the fact
that they overcame the abuse that Victoria heaped on them and became independent personalties. This account of the
relations between Victoria and her nine children should be called Women who should never be mothers.

the lives of queen victoris's children
thought it could have had more in-depth info on each child. info on the boys was very sketchy.not enough on edward who was next in line for the throne.

History Complete ...
I have been fascinated with Queen Victoria since I was a little boy. I never knew how many children there were ... and was pleased to have been so well informed.

The Royal Collection

Fascinating Look into the British Royals from Victoria to the Present
The information on the first video alone--"Queen Victoria's Children" was worth the price of the set to me. I appreciated all the archival footage and the fact that Victoria's darker side gets as much screen time as her accomplishments.

Well displayed yet somewhat dated.
This collection arrived in a wonderful decorative box. Inside the box was four separate DVDs of the Monarch and family. For a collection that displayed old and somewhat rare footage, the picture was better than what was expected however, very little new info was added that a loyal Royal watcher would not have already seen. If you are just starting your journey of the Royals, this would be a great set to lead you down the path. If you are a Royal watcher, this of course is a must have set.

Wonderful Collection
I am an avid British history buff and I have to say this collection is excellent. There are things about the Royal Family that I didn't know about, such as Queen Victoria's children. The commentaries are very good. I highly recommend this DVD collection.

Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II

Long Live the Queen
This DVD gives you a 50 minute (there are closed captions) look at the Coronation of Elizabeth II and behind the scenes of the coronation. We see, even the rehearsals with the queen's stand in.
Some of the films are colour, some black and white. This is very successful at showing what the coronation meant to the English people and the world. Events are explained by some unobtrusive talking heads-historians, attendants and authors.

There are films of the grandeur of the event, parades, decorations and the designs submitted to Elizabeth for her gown. Amazing films of the Abby being transformed for the coronation and the rush to send films by helicopter and jet to the rest of the world are among the many topics covered.
This is a wonderful video for lovers of Great Britain, the monarchy, the queen and history.

More than a coronation
A fascinating review of the history of the time as well as the history of the pomp and circumstance of the coronation.
