Elaine's Big Day [HD]

Best show on tv
This is an incredible show with a fantastic cast and stellar writing. The first few episodes of the show had a little trouble finding a groove, but it has gotten steadily more amazing with each episode. This second season was even better, with the last ten episodes of the season just blowing all other comedies out of the water. All the characters are amazing, and the story between Nick and Jess that took off at the second half of this second season has made them THE best tv couple of all time. Their chemistry just cannot be matched on any other show. The storylines are fun, but realistic and move organically at the same time. If the writers see a story developing (like the love between roommates, Nick and Jess) they don't hold back because they think they "should". They just GO FOR IT, and the show is so much better because they're willing to take those kinds of risks. They've developed and matured the characters at a realistic pace, without ever making you feel like they were...

Star Rating for FOX Ads! The Show Itself Is 5 Stars!
First, the show itself continues to be well-written and acted in the second season, so for the content of the show, 5 Stars!
ZERO stars for FOX's policy of putting advertising on the episodes.

Unfortunately, FOX has chosen to stick obnoxiously loud commercials at the beginning and end of each episode! A primary reason I purchase the shows like this is not to be bombarded with ads. I cannot imagine why FOX feels it necessary to put an ad at the head of each episode with a commercial for the show I ALREADY BOUGHT. Then at the end of each episode FOX insidiously inserts commercials for their other programming. I know I can skip through them, but I can do that with DVR from cable WITHOUT paying $1.99 an episode; I do not expect to have to avoid ads on episodes I purchase.

Finally, since this IS commercial-supported (and with two ads, it definitely is), the price should be lower than for other shows which are sold with no commercials, and the product description...

funny, warm, and addictive
You'll be watching half a season in a night if you're anything like me. This show only gets better with age.

Full Moon Fever

This show...
This show is not good... but I absolutely love watching trashy tv when I'm nursing a hangover. Maybe watching horrible tv with a few friends. This kills some time. If you're looking for dramatic reality tv, this isn't for you. Its a time killer, and absurd.

funny
This show gives us so many laughs. It's made up but very creative. Who would of guess there could be so many tenant problems

So So
I think they're just reenactments of past experiences. Unfortunately, they aren't very good actors. It's OK to watch if there's nothing else.

Behind The Pulpit: Preachers' Daughters Clip Show [HD]

Awesome Potential, Disparaging of of white hat issues
Pk's & Politicans kids are two professions which their kids never asked to be in the profession. They are frequently deprived of any opportunity to find the mores, Maximus, and values on their own. They must always meet some one else's expectations.
Some Pastor's and congregations have found the Grace Space to allow PK's to grow as their own person with out it defining the Pastor. So far in this season, the pastor's have been made out to be nut jobs. Granted some pastors are. But then again churches are a hospital for sinners, not a museum of saints.
The show does not reflect that the boundaries that the healthy "white hat pastors" may have set are out of loving kindness. The show does not show that the boundaries which are set by the balanced pastors are because they want their kids and parishioners to be able to have healthier unbroken lives. No parent really wants to see their potential grand kids be out of Wedlock. Nor do parents want their kids minds turned to...

HUGE disappointment
This show is advertised as a "reality" show however I've watched all of season 1 and do not know where the reality is. Usually reality shows are very random and, REAL life is full of situations that are unexpected. This is why reality TV is so entertaining... we don't know what will happen next. However, Preachers Daughters does not come off as a reality show. The parents, and so-called "preachers" of the show are depicted as control freaks and almost have a confused stare throughout the episodes... thier actions and decisions can be premeditated by the viewer as their characters do not teach values and morals but rather go through life dictating yes or no's, good and bad or a black and white perspective. These families appear to be reading a script where the same situations happen over and over again... even their living rooms, kitchens and decor is cookie-cutter'ish... then there's the ole battle of "that's too short!" (speaking of a mall clothing purchase). BORING!! Unfortunately,...

Cute
Good show especially for any young girl who has grown up in a religious home. Cheering these girls on to make good choices!

The Men Who Lost China

Thought-provoking and well-worth seeing
This is a remarkable documentary covering the history of China in the first half of the 20th Century. It shows how after centuries of monarchy, there were a number of opportunities for China to become a modern, democratic republic. Those opportunities were squandered, however, and this film explains the reasons, most of which I wasn't aware. I found it very surprising.

The overall failure of Western diplomacy, especially the US, to befriend China early on (after the fall of the last emperor), and then again and again when the chances were there, is one of the great tragedies of the last hundred years or so, I think, and this film points out all the familiar reasons: self-interest, hypocrisy, arrogance, simple inattention and incompetence--the list is endless. (A couple of World Wars didn't help, either.)

But at the top of the list you'd have to put straight ignorance: our ignorance of Chinese history, culture, thought and sensitivities, plus Chinese...

Surprisingly well done
I was a bit skeptical about what seemed a low budget, no name documentary, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it turned out to be.
The writer did extensive research on the intricacies of the East-West politics of a hundred years ago, and this definitely shows in the film. The story was laid out logically and drew me in, by the end of the film, I wished the makers went even deeper in the subject matter.
Finally the film made me reflect on how the misguided decisions our leaders made a century ago, still haunt us now.

Good job to the makers,

I also enjoyed

China From the Inside

Finally a detailed look at China's WW 1 involvement
I watched countless WW1 documentaries, including a "WW1 in Color" believe it or not... They are generally very well done but they all have been neglecting the Far East. They all seem to cover the same things: the Sarajevo assassination, the battles of Verdun, the birth of USSR, but lets face it, a hundred years from now all these events will become footnotes on history books. A colossus is rising from the Far East, and weather we like it or not, the way China feels about us, "The West", will one day matter more than everything else. Yet, historians and authors are rather slow in delving in the deep issues of Asian history.
I guess there is an inertia in the curriculum, like in everything else. Generation after generation of professors hands down textbooks covering our over glorified "History of the Western world", while Far East matters are reserved for "Asian Studies" classes.

Well, I am glad to see that this film is an exception to the rule. While is still far...

The Bird With The Crystal Plumage

Fast-paced and clever
There are two types of Dario Argento films: those after "Four Flies on Grey Velvet" (excluding "The Five Days of Milan," which was never released in the U.S.) and those before it. "The Bird With the Crystal Plumage," Argento's first film, belongs to the category of the before and includes the noticeable differences between the two. While the entire body of Argento's work is something to admire, his first three films are surprisingly well-plotted, given Argento's notorious lack of interest in matters of narrative structure. "Bird" begins with Sam Dalmas, an American writer living in Rome, witnessing an attempted murder in an art gallery. Though he is unable to do anything, his fortuitous arrival saves the victim from almost certain death. His passport confiscated and at first held as a suspect, Sam is told by the police that this is the fourth attack in one month. The only difference is, the victim, a beautiful woman named Monica...

Broad appeal for Argento's debut feature
THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE
[L'Uccello dalle Piume di Cristallo]

(Italy/W.Germany - 1969)

Aspect ratio: 2.35:1 (Cromoscope)
Theatrical soundtrack: Mono

Even those who don't care for writer-director Dario Argento's later baroque extravaganzas may warm to his debut feature, a well-received thriller in which an American writer living in Rome (Tony Musante) witnesses an assault on a woman in an art gallery and is subsequently targeted by the would-be assassin, a crazed psychopath who's been terrorizing the city with a series of brutal murders. Typical of an Argento thriller, the hapless hero's investigation unleashes a cycle of violence which culminates in a climactic unmasking that will take some viewers completely by surprise.

Loosely inspired by Fredric Brown's novel 'The Screaming Mimi' (filmed under that title in 1958), Argento's first film is a fairly straightforward thriller with horror asides, anchored by a strong...

His first and arguably one of his best
I really couldn't tell you why I have yet to watch every film in Dario Argento's filmography. A few years ago it was easy to claim ignorance of many of this Italian director's important works because it was often so difficult to find any of them in an uncut form. Fortunately, DVD arrived on the scene and salivating film fans with dollars to spend prodded numerous companies to start churning out any movie they could get their hands on to satiate the masses. It wasn't too long before practically every Argento film arrived on store shelves, with many of these releases being the uncut, unrated editions. Even Troma, the flagship of flaccid filmmaking, released a so-so version of Argento's "The Stendhal Syndrome." People outside of the world of Italian horror cinema have most likely never heard of Dario Argento, unfortunately. These days, more people are familiar with the director's beautiful daughter Asia than with the horror maestro himself. What a shame. Argento's films, at...

Tosh.0 515 [HD]

Tosh love I
Tosh is a destination for me. Consistently funny, usually the next to last smile of my day. Paying $3 an episode on top of my prime subscription: not that enjoyable.

Brilliant Second only to Chris Rock in my Humble Opinion
This show is all about Tosh coming up with the funniest sarcastic comments and original idea's on youtube's funniest video's. Its not for the faint of heart. He is raw, and no topic is off limits. He will test you. Chris Rock talks about religion, handicap people, race, goes off on white and african american people, and all races in between. He talks about woman and men. Well Tosh is the same only he does it differently. Nothing is off bounds with him. On his show or his stand up routine. His show is original the fact it is the highest rated show on comedy central for a reason. He does great innovations like web redemption's for those who want to come to his show and re do the stupid stuff they did and try to get it right but in a funny bit that Tosh put together. He is makes fun of himself better and more than any other comedian. He is just one of the funniest people on the planet. You have to be able to handle any subject. If you have a topic that is just off limits for you...

Tosh.0 Is The Best Show Ever
Tosh.0 has always been one of my favorites and is absolutely hiliarous. I bought an episode off of Amazon Instant Video because Hulu Plus doesn't have Tosh.0 on it anymore.
